I love the way the "shwapahoom" is shaped to fit the panel border. It reminds me of the infamous "Patience is a virue" Doctor Strange commission by Michael Golden from a few weeks back.

"SHWAPHAOOM". Y'know, I would've pronounced that Shwap-hah-oom not Shwah-fah-oom. Thanks for the correction! :)

Michael- That Dr. Strange commission cracked me up. I don't condone Golden being such a jerk about finishing the commission, but man...if you're going to get back at a "pesky" fan, that's the way to do it!

Nimbus-
Hmmm. Good point...I like the Shwap-hah-oom alternative. It sounds more like an explosion.
Er....sorta.

Chubwok-- that was the co-pilot of the Millenium Falcon, right?
Thanks for the great panel grabs-- it's never bad to see a Layton-inked Iron Man.

"Chubwok-- that was the co-pilot of the Millenium Falcon, right?"
I thought Chubwok's were those little furry guys who lived on the Endor Moon in Return of the Jedi.

The best single issue for sound effects is Amazing Spider-Man #38, "Just a Guy Named Joe!", particularly p. 16...
FTAK! BUTOOP! KAPOWK! FOOM! SZAK! BOK!
